The Body Pod uses multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance with hand electrodes to estimate fat mass, muscle mass and segmental distribution, and it presents the results better than anyone. The honest framing: every BIA device is an estimate that moves with hydration, food, and time of day, and absolute numbers can be several percentage points off a DEXA scan. What it's genuinely good for is the trend — same time, same conditions, same device, watching the direction over months.
Is the measurement validated?
Multi-frequency BIA correlates well with DEXA for tracking change, but absolute body-fat percentage can differ by several points. Readings shift with hydration, recent meals and exercise — weigh first thing, fasted, same conditions.

Watch out
Don't treat the body-fat percentage as truth. Compare it only to its own previous readings.
