Tremella (Snow Fungus)
The 'beauty mushroom.' A jelly-textured Chinese fungus traditionally used for skin hydration — its polysaccharides hold water like hyaluronic acid.
Strong traditional use. Limited modern clinical evidence for skin hydration, immune modulation, mild lipid effects. Effects: 8–12 weeks.
Tremella fuciformis is a translucent, jelly-like fungus used in TCM as a skin-and-beauty tonic for over 1,000 years. Its polysaccharides have a structural similarity to hyaluronic acid and can hold many times their weight in water. Modest modern evidence supports topical and oral hydration effects, mild immune modulation, and antioxidant activity. Often included in beauty / skincare supplement stacks alongside collagen and hyaluronic acid.
