Topical Glutathione
A skin-brightening antioxidant. Widely used in Asia for skin lightening; useful for hyperpigmentation and as part of antioxidant stacks.
Moderate evidence for melanin shift, modest brightening, antioxidant skin effects. Effects: 8–16 weeks.
Glutathione applied topically supports skin's antioxidant defences and shifts melanin production from the darker eumelanin toward the lighter pheomelanin — producing modest skin brightening over time. Hugely popular in Asia and parts of Africa for skin-lightening claims; the dermatological evidence supports modest brightening with consistent use, particularly for hyperpigmentation and melasma. Pair with vitamin C and niacinamide for synergistic brightening.
